PayPal Mandatory Account Verification/Configuration

NOTE: Unless you set up and configure your PayPal account correctly, you cannot get paid for the work you have performed on LiveWork.


PayPal Account Requirement

It is mandatory to have a verified PayPal account in LiveWork. This document provides an overview of the LiveWork PayPal account requirements, configuration needs and 6 steps towards setting up and verifying your PayPal account. Without a verified PayPal account you will not be able to receive payment on LiveWork.

To receive payment on LiveWork using your PayPal account, follow these 6 steps:


1. Register for a PayPal Account.
2. Upgrade to a Premier or Business Account.
3. Set your payment preferences.
4. Confirm your email adress in PayPal.
5. Verify your PayPal Account.
6. Verify your account in LiveWork.



Step 1 - Register for a PayPal account


You will need a valid PayPal account to receive payment on LiveWork. You can skip this step if you already have a PayPal account.

Register for a PayPal Account

To register for a PayPal account:
1. Go to PayPal.com.
2. Click the "Sign Up" link on top of the page.
3. In the "Premier" box, click the "Get Started" link.


Step 2 - Upgrade to a Premier or Business Account


LiveWork Clients will only be able to send money to "Premier" or "Business" PayPal accounts. PayPal provides upgrading to different accounts and no additional cost.


Confirm Premier/Business Status:

To confirm your account's verification status:
1. Log into your PayPal account on PayPal.com.
2. On the "My Account" screen confirm the status of your account.

Premier Account

A premier account on PayPal will show a "Account Type: Premier" on your "My Account" screen within PayPal. The screen below will show a correctly upgraded account:



Incorrect Account Type

An account that is not a "Premier" or "Business" account will show a "Account Type: Personal" with a "Upgrade" link on your "My Account" screen within PayPal.

In order to ensure your account is NOT a "Personal" account, click the "Upgrade" link and follow the PayPal steps to upgrade your account at no additional charge.

Step 3 - Set your payment preferences.


In order to receive payment on LiveWork, your PayPal payment preferencs will need to be properly configured. LiveWork utilizes PayPal's adaptive Payments technology which requires your PayPal default preferences to be correctly set.


Confirm your payment preferences:

To confirm if your PayPal account is properly configured:
1. Log into your PayPal account on PayPal.com.
2. On the "My Account" screen click on the "Profile" link.
3. Click "Payment Receiving Preferences" in the Profile screen.

A Premier or Business account on PayPal will need properly configured preferences to receive payment from Clients within the LiveWork system. The screen below will show the Profile screen and correct payment preferences:




Step 4 - Confirm your email adress in PayPal.


It is important to ensure you have a validated and correct email address in PayPal .

This email address will need to exactly match the email address you entered in LiveWork (including upper/lower case).



Check if your email is "Confirmed":

To confirm if your PayPal account has an confirmed email:
1. Log into your PayPal account on PayPal.com.
2. On the "My Account" screen click on the "Profile" link.
3. Click "Email" in the Profile screen.
4. Confirm if your email is marked as "Primary".
5. If you have 2 email accounts, you can only use the one marked as "Primary".

Properly Confirmed Email

An account on PayPal will need a confirmed email address to receive payment. The screen below will show the Profile screen link, and the Email screen with a valid and confirmed email address - marked "Primary" (Note: Only the primary account can be used):


Non-Confirmed Email

The screen below will show the Profile screen link, and the Email screen with an invalid or unconfirmed email address - marked "Unconfirmed".

To confirm the email address on file, either add a valid email or select the email and click "Confirm" as indicated below. Then follow the instructions on PayPal.



Step 5 - Verify your PayPal Account


LiveWork Clients will only be able to send money to "Verified" PayPal Accounts.

Confirm Verification Status:

To confirm your account's verification status:
1. Log into your PayPal account on PayPal.com.
2. On the "My Account" screen confirm the status of your account.

Correctly Verified Account

A properly verified account on PayPal will show a "Status: Verified" on your "My Account" screen within PayPal. The screen below will show a correctly verified account:



Incorrectly Verified Account

An account that is not correctly verified on PayPal will show a "Status: Unverified" with a "Get Verified" link on your "My Account" screen within PayPal.

In order to ensure your account is verified, click the "Get Verified" link and follow the PayPal steps to verify your account.

Step 6 - Verify your account in LiveWork


After following step 1 - 5, You are now ready to Verify your account in LiveWork!


Go through the verification process in LiveWork

To mark your PayPal account as verified in LiveWork:
1. Log into LiveWork.com.
2. Click "Account" on the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Add your PayPal account (check upper/lower case) or Click the "Verify" link.
4. Log into PayPal.com
5. Review your information on PayPal and click "Continue". (NOTE:No payment will be processed).
6. You are now Verified!

Click Account & Verify Link

On the LiveWork site, once logged into the system, click the "Account" link in the upper right corner. On the My Account - Payment Preferences screen, either enter your PayPal account or click "Verify" to go through the verification process as shown below:



Log into PayPal.com

Clicking the "Verify" link will redirect you to PayPal.com where you will need to log into PayPal to complete verification. Log into PayPal on the screen shown below - Please note the "LiveOps Inc." indicator:

Review your PayPal Information

Review your PayPal contact information and ensure this is the same email address entered on LiveWork, then click Continue as shown on the screen below. NOTE: No payment will be processed.:


Confirm verification succeeded

Congratulations your PayPal account is now Verified and you can now receive payment on LiveWork! The screen below shows successful verification:



Failed Verification


If verification within LiveWork has failed at this point, please review steps 1 through 6. In addition do ensure that the email address entered for your PayPal account, matches the email address in PayPal exactly (including exact upper/lower case). Also, be sure to review our Payment FAQ.

To check your verification status on PayPal, enter your PayPal email and click "Check Verification" - you will need to log into PayPal.
